This is the central foyer and concourse of Virtual Aristasia.
Girls of all ages are welcomed here. No men are permitted. Indecent language, sex chat and unkind behaviour are strictly forbidden. Please behave with honour, respect and decorum.
If you are new here, all you need to do is enter a name for yourself below and click the "Login" button - it really is as simple as that! You can ignore the "Userplane ID" box for now.
If the room fails to pop up, make sure you have popups enabled for userplane.com and aristasia.co.uk
If no one is in the room, please keep the window open while you do other things. Rosemaidens (White Rose Officers) try to attend as often as possible to greet newcomers. If you do not get a reply when a White Rose is there remember she may be in a different window herself, checking occasionally. Be patient and you will soon meet Aristasian friends.
The room consumes minimal system resources, so you can safely keep it running in the background as a regular way to meet and communicate in Aristasia.
For Established White Roses
It is just as easy for you too, of course! You simply need to write your name and pop in!
We recommend:
1) That you use the same name you have in SL. This helps to keep continuity between the different doorways to Virtual Aristasia.
2) That you sign up to register your name, so that it is yours alone (no hurry about that though). Please note that by doing so you agree to be added to the White Roses Mailing List - you will receive occasional Elektrapost notices of White Rose events.
3) That you put a picture of your SL Avvie in your profile. This means people will see the same person that they see in Virtualia.
4) If you can sometimes keep the White Rose Room window open when you are at your ordinator in order to greet new girls, that would be much appreciated. Anyway, it is a nice way to keep in touch wth other Roses!
Aesthetics
The advertising on this application is not too obtrusive and is confined to the bottom panel. If you move the White Rose Room to the bottom of your screen, you can keep dragging it down until the advertising panel is off-screen. If you need to conserve space on your screen, you can even drag it further down until the input line is the lowest thing showing. But you may want to see our pretty avvies! You can also narrow the window if you need to.
What is the White Rose Room for?
The White Rose Room has been opened to serve several purposes.
1) It is an east place for new girls to come. They can make first contact here, and if they have difficulty in setting up SL, we can talk them through it from the White Rose Room.
2) It takes up minimal system resources and is therefore a good background chattery to help us keep in touch. For example, we may not always want to run SL in the background waiting for friends to come in. One can make the White Rose Room one's first port of call to check whether anyone is about.
For this reason we recommend keeping the White Rose Room open even when one is in SL.
3) this is a web-based mini-application that requires no installation. It can therefore be run if necessary from libraries, schools, cafes and on ordinators whereon one has no permission to install software. It also requires no setup procedure or ID unlike SL, so all girls of all ages can freely use it.
4) Since voice can be enabled (unlike SL) the White Rose Room can be used in conjunction with SL for lectures, lessons, religious services and other functions where at least one person really should be able to speak.
5) If we start to use more than one virtual world, White Roses can continue to converse cross-world through the White Rose Room. We can also communicate through the White Rose Room when any given Virtual location is out of action (which happens from time to time).
Aristasia-in-Virtualia is greater than any one virtual universe or application, and we feel it is important for Virtual Aristasia not to grow completely dependent on any particular structure. We shall use the ones most suited to our needs at any given time, but we must always keep more than one arrow in our virtual quiver!

Here is the suggested "waiting position". It can also be used for conversation. Most of the window is dragged out of the screen, and only the essential parts are left onscreen. A tiny margin at the side of your working window is enough to monitor for activity.
You are now ready to make your first step into Virtual Aristasia. It could be the most important step of your life — and it couldn't be easier. Please don't be afraid. The Motherland is waiting to welcome you.
